Product Description:
Jardiance® is a prescription medication containing empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Jardiance works by inhibiting the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, allowing excess glucose to be excreted in the urine. This leads to a reduction in blood sugar levels. In addition to its blood sugar-lowering effects, Jardiance has been shown to provide cardiovascular protection and reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
