Description

CREON® (pancrelipase) is a prescription pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) indicated for the treatment of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) in adult and pediatric patients. EPI is a condition characterized by the inability to properly digest food due to a deficiency of pancreatic enzymes, which may occur in conditions such as cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatectomy, or other pancreatic disorders.

Each CREON capsule contains a combination of porcine-derived pancreatic enzymes, including lipases, proteases, and amylases, formulated as enteric-coated spheres to facilitate the digestion of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. This formulation ensures enzyme release in the duodenum, where digestion occurs.
